A big part of my magical nature is to see magic in the mundane and to allow myself to receive messages from Spirit.

I say “allow” because it is a part of our human nature that we talk ourselves out of receiving these messages - in our minds, we may say to ourselves; “it's just a coincidence, it's not real”, but to me these messages are real. These messages could be feathers, repeating numbers, a song in my head which then plays on the radio - all are meaningful coincidences.

Once I was having a conversation with a friend about this while we were walking across a large patch of grass - we were discussing an author who wrote that when they find glass marbles they believe they are a message from Spirit. At that exact moment, my friend said “Look! Down there in the grass!”. Right there was a glass marble next to my foot! “There’s your marble!” said my friend.

I talked about Drawing my Spirit Guide in a previous post and this Guide is called the Sign Maker. She is the one that sends signs and messages as a reminder to see the magic, and never stop believing in it, and to always stay connected to wonder.

Synchronicities and meaningful coincidences, I believe, are the connection between this world and the magickal plane, or our outerworld and our inner being.

Unity Oracle

On the first of January 2023, the Tarot and Oracle publisher Blue Angel invited Artists and Writers to submit work to co-create a universal oracle deck to be called the “Unity Oracle”. 

I sent my artwork “The Sign Maker”. Fast forward two years, and this week the deck arrived and The Sign Maker is card no. 32. I did not know in advance who the writer would be, or what meaning they would write for the card. So it was very special and magical to me to read the card’s title and the message by Catherine Gerdes.

The Little Things - Notice the Blessings that Surround You.  Whether we recognize it or not, we are constantly surrounded by blessings. They can arise in life’s little moments, like savouring a coffee in the morning, embracing a hug from a child, or receiving a nudge from a pet. But when we lose sight of the wonder, we disconnect from gratitude and miss the magickal moments. This card is an invitation to notice the blessings around you.

In addition to savouring these daily gifts, another message of this card is to be intentional in initiating a more wonder-filled life.

I also happen to be reading a book called “That Sense of Wonder” by Francesco Dimitri, which I am really enjoying: I had to drop off stock at my Little Witchy Shop today, and just under the door was a white feather waiting for me!

I am currently illustrating my next Oracle deck: “The Willows Hedge Oracle”. It is fitting that it's a gentle deck that is slowly manifesting, and I’m sharing art prints of some of the future cards in my Spellbound Society Mystery Witch Boxes . 

I have discovered that each card has a message and lesson for me to learn along the way, so I think this may also be why it's such a gentle journey of creation. 

The card artwork that I am currently working on is called “Patience”. The message of the card is to accept the Now and find Peace in the Waiting. Not to rush ahead due to impatience; to know that you are where you need to be in that moment, and to enjoy the Here and Now. 

This week, I watched “Tea with a Druid” and of course the episode was about Waiting and Patience! (Episode no 185).

I’m often asked: “What are the messages and signs sent to us from Spirit and the World of Magick and Wonder?” I’m thinking that this would be a great future blogpost and Grimoire page that I would love to create for you.
